The Royal Mint has released 26 10p coin designs. Their theme is the A to Z of Britain and each coin combines a letter of the alphabet with an aspect of quintessential Britishness.
This 10p features the Angel of the North alongside the letter ‘A’. The Angel of the North is a contemporary sculpture that first spread its wings on 16 February 1988.
